Current Obsession

Okay so I have a girl crush on Candace from YBC.  It's no lie. And I love her monthly challenges. I SUCK when I don't have some kind of schedule to follow, I just can't do it. But here's my issue. I have to run too.  I have to run so I don't get aches, I have to run for the endorphins, I have to run because I have two 5k's this year to "train" for.  And let's be honest. I have 3 kids, a full time job, and a household to keep running with my husband so following her schedule is really, really hard if I'm going to run too.  Especially since everywhere I read says yoga is not strength training. But this month's is kick ass.  So I'm going to put it out here that I'm doing it this month as best that I can. I might have to cut some stuff out of the longer days but I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and try to get up early and run.  This is something I've struggled with since deciding my health was important when my second baby was 10 months old. It's hard. 

Anyway, I'm going to focus on shifting my modified boat pose to a full on boat pose, crow (because, hello, I'm a sucker for trying to get that damn pose to work with my long legs), and seeing how long I can hold headstand for WITHOUT the wall.

Can yoga be strength training to pair with running?
How do you get your workouts in before the rest of your family gets up?
